Do you need directions for the directions?

Or, is this a…. what the heck situation?

There has been art since the beginning of time, it has past through culture both inspiring with beauty and disrupting by choice. These acts can be ephemeral at best, and lost at worst. When we look toward other forms that are “ephemeral” like music for example, there is a score that musicians follow to “recreate” the experience. While one could easily argue that the performance is for the listener, there is the invaluable embodied experience of the performer. These postcards are a bit like a score, a recipe, or prescription - with due respect and a deep bow to the disruptors and the non-sensical of the Fluxus movement. These are an opportunity to enact ridiculousness and to consider what might be at stake. The design of this project is an archive of what was done, not visually, as that is not needed. Yet, prose or words, to catalyze its occurrence.

There is a brilliant and quite simple process called automatic writing. After you enact the the instructions, find a place to sit and tell the story of what happened, without curation for 3 minutes. Take a deep breath. Assess if more time is needed, set the timer. If there is something to share, please do.

Nonsense reminds that not everything makes sense. And yet, it can still have meaning.

Myth making, and story telling with the world around you is not only a cultural coping mechanism, it makes life more interesting. Shall we envision the future together?
